☈ strike #01 (action / voice)
[ Amidst the chilly but otherwise relatively nice weather, out of the forest there's suddenly evidence of several small explosions: first a blaze of light and smoke, then directly afterward an even brighter flash and what sounds suspiciously like a clap of thunder... as if a storm had struck right there despite it being reasonably clear. When the echoes die out and birds stop screaming warnings and flying away, there's only a young woman, pink-haired and severe-looking, standing near the center of the blasts.
Good day Luceti, Lightning's just arrived, and she's already killed a random deer- within the first quarter hour of her waking up here, even, although at the time she thought it was out of self-defense. The animal just came too close, and anyone who cares to investigate the disruption would soon discover Lightning first stamping out any small fires she inadvertently caused, then cautiously half-kneeling by the beast as she checks it for life. What was such a weak animal doing out by itself in the wilderness, anyway?
Several minutes later finds the very confused-but-hiding-it former-soldier - already changed into her regular clothing - finally making her presence known on the journals. Initially she just flips through the pages and listens in on what little can be heard at the time, but she does eventually speak... her tone very flat and to the point, of course. It's more of a demand than a question, really. ]

Where is this?
[Action]
That. [He nods to the deer. He wasn't so familiar with this worlds' wildlife, so--] I thought they seemed pretty harmless, but...
[Action]
If it was so 'harmless' then it should have still known to stay away.
[ At least she dodged the possibility that the thing was his pet or something. However... ]
Who are you?
[Action]
Roberto. Don't suppose you're a new arrival here?
[Action]
Oh, but... 'new arrival?' She shifts her weight as well, looking a little less blatantly on-guard now. There had better be a good explanation for why she just woke up in this weird place, okay? ]
... It would seem that way.
[Action]
This is Luceti. It's a different world than yours.
[Action]
How do you know where I'm from?
[Action]
[Though he was able to travel between worlds back in his, so he took it much better in the beginning than most.]
[Action]
Different worlds.
[ She says it as if repeating it would make it sound any less strange, crossing her arms. There's one thing foremost on her mind- where are her friends in all this? She quickly decides that... whatever this guy is trying to tell her, it's gotta be a trick or something (fal'Cie-caused, probably), and suddenly seems to shift gears. ]
So there are people living near here?
[Action]
Back there is a village. A couple hundred people, give-or-take.
[Action]
Right. Thanks.
[ And with that, she gathers up the journal that had been with her clothes and moves to head off through the trees in that direction. He can follow if he wants to, but otherwise... well, she's not waiting up. ]
[Action]
[Roberto does, in fact, follow. But only because he was interrupted in his patrol and he has to go back that way to get back to it. And, offering after a moment:]
If you had any type of weapon with you, you should be able to find it in the smithy in town. All of the food and supplies are free, so you can take whatever you want.
[Action]
Free?
[Action]
[Roberto reaches the edge of the trees and pauses, turning toward where he had been headed. He indicates in the direction of the plaza with his other hand.]
[Action]
I see. Thank you.
[Action]
[With that and a nod, Roberto turns in the opposite direction, adjusting where his blade is settled and moves as though to head off and continue his patrolling.]
