[ After all the stuff that's been going on lately, it's probably no surprise that Lightning has already been pretty on edge for quite a while now... particularly the last few days. Imagine her joy then, when halfway through making breakfast she opens her journal to find that yet another bout of insanity is going down.

Just... great.

As soon as she works out the basics of the disturbance, she quickly begins to clean up what she had spread out, addressing her journal mid-action. So far, she seems a bit irritated, but... otherwise, pretty unimpressed. ]

Alright... whatever's going on, everyone needs to just stay calm. We need to figure out who these people are, where they're coming from, and why.

[ Yes, she's using her Important Voice, even though there definitely hasn't been time to really think this through. There's a pause while she finishes gathering up her breakfast, but if nobody interrupts she then picks up her journal and makes an additional, somewhat reluctant 'command' as she moves to leave the eating area and go back towards her own rooms again. ]

... If they're not enemies, make sure none of them are left wandering around out in the snow.

[ Aaannnnd fourthwallstuffgo. As soon as she revisits her apartment, you just know she'll be tromping outside to see this whole mess for herself too. Go ahead and harass her at any point over journal or in person or both or whatever. ]

[ -- WTH!!! She was walking, but upon hearing that she stops dead in her tracks. ]

Where are you?

I'm pretty sure this is the middle of the village. It's got the fountain and everything over here.

[ That pause doesn't last long- in the next moment, Lightning's brain jumps back into gear and she bursts into her apartment, pretty much drops everything by the door... ]

Hold on, do you know where this is?

Luceti, right? [Snow sighs.] Didn't expect to end up back here, but I'm missing out on the wing motif this time around.

[ ...snatches up her gloves and coat, turns on her heel, and is already back out the door by the time he finishes answering. She doesn't answer a moment, however, because this is really strange- so he's actually been here before, like Serah apparently had? And just what does he mean by that wing comment? Does he not have any for some reason?

... No matter, she'll figure it out herself pretty quick. ]

Stay where you are- at the fountain.

Sure thing, Light. [So he'll stay where he is. And make a small snowman to pass the time.]

[ And brb, using the rest of the hallway to throw on her gloves and coat, then probably wake up anyone still sleeping in the building with the sound of her charging down the stairs. She'll also be taking the distance to the village center at a dead sprint, thanks, regardless of how awkward that can be with her gunblade still holstered.

Her face is unreadable when she slows and approaches him. No wings. Just like he said, then. ]

[And there's a snowman. Which doesn't matter much, so Snow just pats his hands together and looks over to Lightning.] That was pretty fast.

Tch!

[ Never mind, her own mismatched wings start twitching in fury, matching the look of complete indignation quickly developing on her face. You idiot, she's been here all by herself for over a month, nursing a l'Cie curse without any way to get back to her Focus (even if she wanted to do it), no idea what could be happening back in her own world, freezing her butt off, and...

Damn it all, she's missed you guys. Even Snow. Of course it was 'pretty fast.' ]

[Lightning can be a little tough to read sometimes, and that face doesn't look like it could bode well. But all that does is give Snow incentive to shuffle his feet for a second before:]

How long have you been cooped up here?

Since the twelfth of last month. ... Over thirty days.

[Okay, so she's been stuck here for awhile. A month is a really long time.] Just you?

That's right. Apparently you 'all left before I got here.'

[ Echoing the words of the guy she talked to that knew Serah (and someone else who was never specified), only with a lot more bitterness. Not Snow's fault of course, but you'll have to forgive her since... she hasn't addressed it with anyone else at all in the entire time she's been here. ]

Yeah, but you left too. [Not that it matters since she's stuck here anyway.] It's gotta be tough. But if anyone could pull through all this, it's you, Light.

[ Ah. But. Wait, is he... pep-talking her? He's starting to pep-talk her, isn't he? Oh, Snow. She just stares up at him neutrally with her arms crossed, then sighs gustily, most - though not all - of the agitation melting away for now. ]

Hm. Good to see you're... feeling like yourself.

[That's a decently successful pep-talk if he ever gave one. Which he has. A lot. Too many to count.

He pounds his fist against his chest confidently.] 'Course I would. What about you?

[ Sort of a double-edged question, there. She blinks, then puts a hand over her heart purposefully, eye contact steady. Whether or not Snow catches what that means or not... well. ]

Holding up.

[His face falters -- which pretty much signifies that he gets the jist of what that's supposed to mean. It's not something that's all that good, that's for sure.]

Good to hear. This place isn't all that much of a paradise. [Gathered from his very short stay.]

[ ... Yeah. She puts her hands back in the pockets of her coat and swallows. You can be as tough as you want, but it's hard not to be uncomfortable when you might as well have a bomb strapped to your chest- one you've yet to figure out any clue towards removing or at least putting the fuse out that doesn't involve an explosion. ]

... Hm. Seems like a pretty common theme wherever we are, though.

[ If only Sazh was here- he's pretty good at pointing out how hard it is to 'catch a break' and all. ]

[Snow takes a look to his own mark -- it's further along than Lightning's, but he doesn't know that.]

Definitely. [...] Hey, give me a hand finishing this snowman.

[ Well, pessimism won't get them anywhere, but-- wait, what? She frowns and eyes said snowman doubtfully. She's seen a few of those that people have built around the village lately, but as far as she's aware, they're usually... you know, the work of children. Not full-grown adults. ]

You've gotta be kidding me.

[See, that's just a snowman stereotype. For shame, Lightning.]

C'mon, it's not gonna finish itself.

[ Frooooown. ] Throw a snowball at her. Doit-doit-doit.

I'll pass.

[Snow starts to pack some snow together. That's a weird sentence.]

You sure? You're missing out.

[ She just looks away, ignoring him. Definitely not her thing, and she's got other things on her mind anyway. Case in point: ]
