[ Today, Lightning's doing something fairly unusual in comparison to her normal - and recently even darker than normal - behavior. For once, she's outside and yet doesn't seem busy, merely watching as her puppy Baldr frolics about in the general area of community housing 4 in search of sticks to defeat, things to dig up, and nearby people to greet. In fact, the young woman and dog look pretty safe to come 'visit' with today- especially since there's also no gunblade in sight, and as she sits down to lean against the outside wall, she makes a pretty inane-seeming public message. ]

These seasons... usually last about three months each, right? How much warmer does it get?

[ For the last two weeks or so, Lightning's heard some interesting talk over the journals about what's in the forest, and well... guess who's just crazy enough to decide to check it out when the chance provides itself? It doesn't take her long at all to ditch the dog at her apartment, get her gunblade instead, and head off into the forest.

... It also doesn't take her long to come across and begin cautiously following one of dragon!Jack's trails of destruction. Whatever caused this? It's very big and extremely clumsy- in her opinion, probably not something that belongs amidst trees, really. ]

[Well one thing about being a great big bloody dragon is that he he has some keener senses. He lets out a snort and comes to a stop, turning his attention behind him. There's a figure approaching. Does he bother to speak with her or not? Hmmm...]

[ Well, does he? Said figure's not hard to recognize, after all, with her pink hair and fact that she's wearing a skirt in the middle of the forest with a huge weapon hanging behind it.

After running into Moro and the like, though, her behavior around huge beasts in these parts is a little different than it might have once been. But she still hangs back, just... staring. ]

[Yeah okay, just stare at him, you dumb broad. He recognizes her and after rolling his eyes, turns around and eyes her.]

... yeah, this is pretty ironic. But I make a way better monster than you do. For one? Not mindless.

What?

[ She takes a half-step backward, mind racing and voice definitely a bit breathless in surprise. That's one way to startle a response out of her, for all the seriousness she usually displays. ]

Jack? [ She glances aside, as if there's actually going to be
random people poking out from behind the trees and listening in or something. Needless to say, she's pretty incredulous here. ] What happened?

[ A dragon. No shit, Sherlock. She steps just a little closer, tense, annoyed, and not hiding at all the fact that she's staring. Just don't get any funny ideas, lizardguy. ]

[ Hey, technically, turning into a monster isn't normal for her either. Jerk. She scowls as she steps up onto a fallen log, walking up the incline carefully before grabbing hold of a branch for support. ]

... I'm not so sure about that. Outside of the stuff that affects everyone, even the Malnosso tend to have their... reasons. Unless you're saying gaining a family--

[ Her voice keeps getting more and more charged until it just suddenly cuts off there. He... hadn't really been himself during that last experiment either, had he?

[He just watches her with feigned disinterest. He's surprised she's even giving him the time of day, honestly. Between killing her and giving her two kids, he figured she'd hate him.]

What the hell would family have to do with this? I ditched them before the damn experiment even ended.

[ She doesn't like him... but this is just a bit too interesting to pass up. Her voice is harsh, though; so far, that experiment ranks top as the worst ones she's been through, and his words don't help. ]

I don't know- you tell me. Just what was up with the whole... change there at the end?

Hell if I know. Look, one night me and the little lady back home were getting it on, the next morning I woke up a little tubby, a few days later I went from looking like Big Albert to Puff the Magic Dragon. Don't ask me to explain it.
