[He's got plenty of experience with that, for sure. How long did it take for Angeal to go missing? To betray Shinra? To become a monster and get himself killed? It doesn't take long for the world to change.]

Hm. He was Branded at the same time I was... and yet, while he was here, I was afraid of what he might do- if he found out about me and Hope being l'Cie. [ Troubling, to say the least. She shakes her head, making what sounds kind of like a soft cough. ] Anyway.

But it really is entirely too serious a topic to be spoken of on such a nice day, with an amusement park right in front of them, of all things. So he scuffs his foot through the sand and picks up the pace, walking backwards to face her and offering up a grin.]

[ Fff yeah, she's definitely in the business of srs business, which is... kind of hard to help sometimes. At least she's self-aware at the moment, though- she raises her eyebrows with just a touch of amusement, spreading her arms out to either side. ]

[ He's asking her to choose something?! Her eyebrows go up again with good-natured exasperation... but exasperation all the same, and she puffs out a sigh with gaze drifting before finally going for the first thing that comes to mind. ]

With a crowd like this, I'm betting the games are all pretty hard.

It's almost a shame that... apparently, everything's being manned by those droid things.

[ Lightning pauses again- it's not like what she's alluding to is something she's really made a habit out of... like, ever, but. Oh well. No use lying to him. ]

... Fooling them. Into thinking you can't do something you're already good at.

[ Because she figures that would be what it would turn into: trying to trick someone else nearby instead. The droids are one thing, though... is it worth trying something like that on someone who's not a product of the weirdos doing the experiments and stuff? ]
